Currently, the State of New Mexico does NOT have a “license” for a HandyMan. What I have is a “Handyman Certificate”. This is a certificate issued by the State that needs to be initially applied for and renewed annually. I do have a Handyman Certificate (which legally allows me to operate as a handyman) as well as an Alamogordo Business Registration and a sales tax certificate which makes me responsible for collecting sales tax that is then remitted to the State of New Mexico.
